The City of Wilmington and West Side Grows held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, July 24th to dedicate a new City Park at 4th and Rodney Streets. Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki, Members of City Council and DNREC Secretary Shawn Garvin joined other City and State officials as well as community representatives for a first look at the park that was designed by the community. The $215,000 park renovation includes removal of all paving, old play equipment and fencing and the installation of new play equipment, exercise pathways, benches, picnic areas and a colorful poured-in-place playground surface.
